PRESS RELEASE: July 12, 2005 LOCAL CHEF TO APPEAR AT THE BIG E
Westport, CT– July 12, 2005 – Nicole Straight, award-winning chef and founder of Time to Eat! a Westport based cooking school has been asked to be a guest chef at the Big E, the 9th largest fair in the country. The fair takes place in Springfield, Massachusetts for 17 days, and Straight will be highlighted in the Harvest New England Kitchen Theater on Tuesday, September 20 at 4 p.m.
Straight’s classes focus on teaching busy parents how to make fast, healthy meals from scratch in 15 minutes. She has been helping busy parents for many years, and “people are always so excited when they leave my class. They can’t wait to go home and cook for their families!” As a mother of two young children, Straight understands the evening dinnertime dilemma when the kids are hungry and the parents are frustrated trying to find anything fast, but not always healthy. Time to Eat! classes solve this issue by providing parents with comprehensive pantry lists, healthy and family-friendly meals that can all be prepared from prep to plate in 15 minutes or less!
Since 1997 this tasty, educational program has attracted people from all over to enjoy cooking demonstrations, techniques, food samplings and recipe contests.
The exhibit has a professional sound system and closed-circuit television to put the audience "on the chopping block" as they view work surfaces on the large screen above the stage. Also featured are state-of-the-art appliances, top-of-the-line cabinetry and All-Clad cookware in all presentations.
Prominent guests have included Mario Batali, Sara Moulton, Todd English, Mary Ann Esposito, Gordon Hammersley, Jeanne Lemlin, Jasper White and Martin Yan.
The 2005 line-up is taking shape and to date, Giada De Laurentiis, The Clever Cleaver Brothers, and Tyler Florence are scheduled to appear with Straight.
